PetCruiser™ Hard Bottom Car Seat Extender

Remi, my 6-month-old puppy, weighs 50lbs and is expected to reach 100lbs when fully grown. Given his size, standard car hammocks simply wouldn't suffice in the long term. I stumbled upon this product on my TikTok For You Page and decided to give it a shot. It arrived in less than a week, packaged in a handy carrying case, making it easy to store in my trunk when not in use. Installation was a breeze, taking no more than 3 minutes with just a few buckles to secure. While I do wish the zippers were more user-friendly, it's not a significant issue for me. With previous flimsy hammocks, Remi was hesitant to jump in, and I often had to lift him. However, once he realized this new hammock was sturdy, he leaped in without any assistance. The inclusion of a seatbelt was an added bonus!

This product is an absolute game-changer for my dogs! Previously, I used a flimsy hammock that caused them to lose balance and slip at the edge of the seat, resulting in stress and discomfort. Now, with this new hammock, they have ample space to lie down, and it's as if they have their own individual seats. The sturdiness and ease of cleaning are perfect for our upcoming road trip. The side flaps are a fantastic addition, protecting the doors from scratches. It also includes a seat belt clip, though I wish there were two and that it was more adjustable for larger dogs. Despite this minor drawback, I'm thrilled with this purchase—it's a game-changer for my three dogs.

After my old hammock didn't fit my new car, I started searching for a replacement and discovered this one. I was surprised to see how much backseat covers had evolved since my last purchase. I was looking for features like side protectors, mesh panels, and pockets, as well as a flat bottom.

Initially, I opted for a cheaper version that appeared to have a flat base in the pictures. However, upon receiving it, I quickly realized it wasn't what I wanted and ordered this one instead.

This hammock ticks all the boxes for me:

• The side panels cover the entire area between the front and back of the hammock, and they even have zippers.

I want to start by saying that I have a 60lb pit/lab mix who is very restless during car rides, constantly pacing back and forth between the windows in the rear seat. It's always been a challenge to find a cover that provides enough coverage for her to move around without tripping over the gap between the seats. However, this product has been a game-changer! I have a 2022 Rav 4, and the integrated board is incredibly sturdy. It also comes with a seatbelt, which is a must-have for any dog owner. I can't express enough how relieved I am to finally have something that allows my big baby to pace comfortably. It's worth every penny!

We purchased this cover for two main purposes: firstly, to ensure our dogs stay in the backseat, and secondly, to extend the seat area for our larger dog to have more space. This cover successfully meets both needs and also safeguards the upholstery in our Ford Ranger. It extends the backseat up to the back of the front bucket seats, allowing our lab/boxer mix to stretch out comfortably while still providing ample space for our beagle.

My new 2023 Equinox has a fixed back seat, unlike my old 2011 model where I could slide the backseat almost up to the front seats. We recently acquired a 2024 Jeep Grand Cherokee L with second-row captain seats. Our dog tends to be a bit anxious in the car and would constantly jump between the two captain seats to look out the window. To prevent her from scratching the seats or injuring herself, we found this product to be the perfect solution. It's impressively sturdy and can support a lot of weight even without any middle support between the seats. The hammock stays flat, providing ample space for our dog to move around in the back. It also protects the backs of the seats from damage and can be folded to accommodate a passenger without needing to remove the entire cover. The hammock comes in a convenient storage bag/carrying case for when it's not in use, and it's very easy to install and remove as needed. I would definitely recommend this product!

This product is fantastic! It's ideal for traveling with my two Labrador Retrievers. The extension over the gap in front of the bench seats is a game-changer, and the structured bottom minimizes their slipping or sliding on the seat. I do wish the middle net portion was a bit taller, but my dogs might be able to get over any height, so it's not a dealbreaker for me. The thick netting that divides the back and front has zippers, allowing it to be opened, which is a really convenient feature.

I don't typically write reviews, but I just had to share my excitement after installing this seat cover/extender. To my delight, my dog immediately jumped in and settled down. I was initially worried he might not take to it, but it's quite sturdy and now seems like his own little oasis in the car. :) Since we often go on long car trips, I'm eager to see how this enhances his travel experience!

It's sturdy enough to accommodate all three of our dogs and still allows us to use a dog seatbelt for safety. My previous waterproof seat cover for dogs wasn't quite cutting it because my adorable but clumsy dog, Chili, would always end up in the footwell and then flip the cover up when he climbed back onto the seat, no matter how securely I fastened it. Based on its positive reviews, I decided to try this one, and it turned out to be a fantastic choice! Chili loves the option to stand right behind me when he wants, and the zip-up sides have been a game-changer when he gets excited and sticks his head out the window, preventing him from slipping off the side of the seat. I also appreciate the pockets for holding his leash and seat belt clips.

When left alone in the car, my anxious boy developed a bad habit of crawling into the driver's seat and even burrowing down into the driver's footwell, which is cute until the car starts revving because he's sat on the gas pedal! While it might not work for more determined dogs, the zip-up mesh barrier keeps him in the back while still allowing him to see, which is nice. I tried unzipping it once, but he found a tiny gap and disappeared under the cover for the rest of that drive. LOL. Some reviews mentioned that the boards in the cover felt hard, so I also got a bed to put on it, as Chili often liked to lay on any decorative stuffed animals or pillows I had in the back. It seems to have been the right choice, though your dog's preferences may vary. As a bonus, the cover keeps the rear footwell cooler in the summer, which has been great for storing things in a hot car during store trips.
